Innovation Room Featured at 2010 Business showcase

Almost 600 people attended the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce 2010 Business Showcase and toured the Innovation Room, getting a sneak peek at what has made our community’s innovative tech economy tick for more than a decade.  The Innovation Room featured local tech companies representing 10 tech sectors that make up our tech economy, as well as the four incubator programs dedicated to cultivating these tech companies.

Incubator Programs Featured in the Innovation Room

UF Sid Martin Biotechnology Incubator (BI) - houses the most experienced and fully equipped bioscience incubation program in the U.S. Its 22 wet labs, small and large animal facilities, pilot scale fermentation facilities, climate controlled greenhouses and extensive array of shared scientific equipment enable start-ups to launch rapidly and affordably
Gainesville Technology Enterprise Center (GTEC) - community program, encompassing a community of on- and off-site tech start-ups, that provides early stage technology startup companies with tools, training and infrastructure to help them grow and develop into financially viable technology enterprises
Santa Fe Center for Innovation and Economic Development (CIED)  - Offers specialized training for individuals and businesses, and provides support to entrepreneurs
Synogen - Works with companies from the concept stage through commercialization to help them be successful and profitable in the commercialization of technologies that improve the quality of peoples' lives
